Welcome to the official Website of the

Theta  Kappa Chapter

of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc.

On the Campus of Louisiana State University, men of Omega Psi Phi began their journey May 15, 1975 making the first men of the fraternity on the campus. The Theta  Kappa Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. was chartered two years later on March 12, 1977 on the campus of Louisiana State University.

Starting as a very small group of four undergraduate students, Gary Simon, Nelson Anthony, Anthony Thomas and Eura C. Miles, became the first Omega men on campus. Gary Simon, Anthony Thomas, and Eura C. Miles along with 10 other charter members went on to charter the Theta Kappa chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. The chapter has since grown to over 200 sons of Theta Kappa. The chapter has a proud and rich history at LSU. Some of Theta Kappa’s men were trailblazers for the communities in which they live as well as for the LSU campus. Theta Kappa was the first Black Greek Fraternity to be founded on LSU’s campus and the founders of LSU’s National Pan Hellenic Council. The chapter had the first African American graduate from the School of Veterinary Medicine and the first Ph.D. graduate from the College of Engineering. Theta Kappa has brothers who are very successful in the National Football League and some who have served as city councilmen, lawyers, engineers, research scientists, ministers, and various other roles in their respective communities.
